Fantastic Visions interviews Canadian Delvin Solkinson about the Galactic Trading Card Oracle Complex project he initiated. The cards are a way to make Fantastic and Visionary Art in an accessible form, so that people can purchase and have a mobile card sets or micro gallery sets, that they can carry with them or put up on their wall.
The Berlin collectors Ulla and Heiner Pietzsch have donated their collection of 150 Surrealist artworks, valued at €120m to the city of Berlin. But the bequest may end up displacing the world famous Old Masters collection in the Gemäldegalerie.
VISIONARIES presents 40 participating national and international artists whose work exemplifies the growing genre of art known as Visionary Art. Internationally renowned artist H.R. Giger is represented in the exhibition, along with other exhibiting artists of special note, Ernst Fuchs a founding member of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism and Brigid Marlin, founder of the Society for Art of Imagination.
For some 20 years Lukáš Kándl has co-operated with the Droit de Regard Gallery, in the center Arcachon, France. Starting with a few small paintings, Lukáš now displays very large artworks and permanently occupies 2/3 of the whole surface area, with a total of about 50 paintings.
Agostino Arrivabene is included in the “4 Way Street Exhibition” group show. All of the participating artists are united by a love of painting, color, shape, image and the belief that two-dimensionality is the only territory in which to express their feelings and their world.
