Christian Flora - Dom Galerie

Dom Galerie in Wiener Neustadt, Austria, presents an exhibition of Christian Flora‘s paintings, graphics and sculpture.

Christian studied at the Viennese university for applied art, under Prof. Wolfgang Hutter and Prof. Wolfgang Herzig.

Characteristic for the work of the artist is the trisection of space, figure and a highly structured, made of indefinable material, artificially formed environment. Mechanical elements are integrated into organic designed worlds – kept in elegant chromatics. Significant in Flora’s work is his fastidious lines.

The mostly female characters, brought to existence in Flora’s pictures seem to intertwine with their environment. They explore the artificial universe with a natural certainty, while still acting alienated although. Very often these characters seem like a hybrid between human and machine – not knowing what they should expect from these threatening worlds.

Christian Flora lives and works in Vienna and Carinthia. His opus can be found in private and public collections.
