Surrealism Now began in 2010 with the support of the Bissaya Barreto Foundation and now to celebrate the fifty years of the Conímbriga Monographic Museum, Santiago Ribeiro has gathered together surrealists from more than 10 countries to exhibit works.

VISIONARIES presents 40 participating national and international artists whose work exemplifies the growing genre of art known as Visionary Art. Internationally renowned artist H.R. Giger is represented in the exhibition, along with other exhibiting artists of special note, Ernst Fuchs a founding member of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism and Brigid Marlin, founder of the Society for Art of Imagination.

Last Rites Gallery presents “Taboo”, a group exhibit of works by artists in the beinArt Collective, guest curated by Jon Beinart. “Works featured in this exhibition explore the theme unashamedly, fearlessly and sometimes with humor. Breaking the “taboo”

Agostino Arrivabene is included in the “4 Way Street Exhibition” group show. All of the participating artists are united by a love of painting, color, shape, image and the belief that two-dimensionality is the only territory in which to express their feelings and their world.

The Bavarian Forest of town of Viechtach, known as the “center of the fantastic art” of Bavaria, welcomes the AUSTROnauten soon: Artists from Austria and Australia, which follow the tradition of Viennese Fantastics their own way. The opening of the AUSTROnauten exhibition takes place on Friday, 22 June 2012 at 7pm in the Alten Rathaus, Viechtach.

From June 1st, the Phantasten Museum Vienna , in the Palais Palffy presents an exhibition of the artist group “Dali‘s heirs”. Seven painters make up the exhibition: Angerer the Elder and Michael Maschka (Germany), Michel Barthelemy (Belgium), Monica Fagan (France), Dragan Ilic Tues Vogo (Serbia), Peter Proksch and Kurt Regschek (Austria).

After the huge success of recent years, the “IMAGO – Phantastic Art” is again this year staging an exciting exhibition in the Lower Austrian Barockschloss Riegersburg. The owner of the palace, Countess Francesca Pilati presents an exhibition program dedicated primarily to the fantastic art.

The Old Masters – New Visions painting seminar,now in its 16th year will begin in Payerbach. A three and four week painting seminar with Prof Phil Rubinov Jacobson will take place at the Payerbacher Hof Hotel.
