VISIONARIES presents 40 participating national and international artists whose work exemplifies the growing genre of art known as Visionary Art. Internationally renowned artist H.R. Giger is represented in the exhibition, along with other exhibiting artists of special note, Ernst Fuchs a founding member of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism and Brigid Marlin, founder of the Society for Art of Imagination.

Austronauten Exhibition Viechtach

The Bavarian Forest of town of Viechtach, known as the “center of the fantastic art” of Bavaria, welcomes the AUSTROnauten soon: Artists from Austria and Australia, which follow the tradition of Viennese Fantastics their own way. The opening of the AUSTROnauten exhibition takes place on Friday, 22 June 2012 at 7pm in the Alten Rathaus, Viechtach.

Spirit of Painting Bali Retreat with Philip Rubinov Jacobson

Philip Rubinov Jacobson‘s ongoing program of painting seminars takes him and his students to exotic tropical Bali in January 2013. Two long term friends and respected artists in their own right, De Es Schwertberger and Wolfgang Widmoser will both attend the seminar as guest artists to deliver presentations.

Visionary Art Yearbook 2010 – 2011

In January 2009, Otto Rapp started a private network of Visionary Artists on the Ning Platform with a handful of friends. Since then, it has steadily grown and includes many well known Fantastic and Visionary artists. Otto has edited a yearbook, as a celebration of the cooperative spirit of these artists and their accomplishments.

De Es Schwertberger – Small Works

De Es Schwertberger has banished the big pictures to the hidden corners, and is exhibiting smaller works that are still equal in impression as the larger works. The exhibition of small works is on display in his Vienna studio.

New Fantastic Art Museum in Vienna

The Fantastic Art Museum at Palais Palffy in Vienna, is the result of close cooperation between the Österreichischen Kulturzentrum (Austrian Cultural Center) and Gerhard Habarta (Lexicon of Fantastic Artists). It will showcase the different trends in Fantastic Art since the beginning of the 19th Century to the present.
