On the 10th of March 2011, was the opening reception for the H.R. Giger retrospective exhibition “H.R. Giger – Dreams and Visions” at Kunst Haus Wien.

Kunst Haus Wien was originally a furniture factory built in 1892, and then later between 1989 and 1991 converted into a museum for the artworks of Fredensreich Hundertwasser. The upper floors are used for temporary exhibitions from internationally renowned artists and it was here that HR Giger‘s retrospective was exhibited.

Professor Ernst Fuchs was invited as the special guest speaker to say some words about Giger and his artwork. He is known to have greatly influenced HR Giger. Both are close and long standing friends and are known to greatly admire each other’s vast catalogue of works.

Following are two interviews done with Giger at the exhibition opening. Both interviews were conducted in German.
